Hi

I have a type 1 charging unit and wish to convert it to a type 2 to charge my new mini. I intend to use a K.o.h.n.s converter plug

Does anybody have any experience?

Thanks

That Amazon item says that it is incompatible with bmw and other euro makes, so it maybe a no goer. If you have a tethered charger you may want to explore the possibility of changing the cable for one with a type 2 connector. This replacement cable is not much more expensive, ok electrician required. Type 2 tethered cable | IEC62196 | 16/32amp | 3.6/7.2kW | 5/10 Metre |. but might be better in the long run.

Thanks Mole for taking the time to reply!
I have ordered and fitted a new tether cable instead, I wasn’t happy that the connection with the adapter was going to be good and worried that it might spark, with the consequences that brings.
Picking up the car this afternoon- 🙌🙌
Cheers!
