Hello there,

Just wanted to drop a friendly hello. New to the forum and keeping a keen eye on all these upcoming EV cars. I currently drive a Korean hybrid but I'm looking towards the future, as these EV models become mainstream. I've always loved the styling and performance of a cooper and I'd love to get back into one.

The Hyundai Ioniq is a pretty nice hybrid vehicle from what I've heard, assuming that's what you currently drive. Going to be a big jump from a hybrid to full electric, though increasing battery capacity should alleviate any range anxiety you may have. Anything on your MINI EV wish list?

I'm currently driving a Kia Optima and have been very impressed by the average 900km range. I would say that for a full EV there are a couple of things to hope for. First is the range, which I can only hope is above 200km. I mean if the Chevy Bolt can do it, lets hope others can as well. Second is the price point, which I hope is somewhere amongst the current Cooper lineup, but I would understand if it exceeds it. Lastly and most importantly is the charge time. People cant afford to sit around for hours while their car charges. I mean if the range is decent enough to get you around for the day then hopefully that's a non issue.

I think you will prefer these German EV's for the fact they will be sportier, those Korean car makers just can't budget for it and thus won't be nearly as sporty although what's sporty enough depends on the individual.

Yeah I have high hopes for what BMW/Mini will bring to the EV market. Hopefully with the upcoming release of the new 3 series EV, they'll have the knowledge and platform to make a serious contender with the Mini. If they do it right, we'll hopefully see a sales boost that the brand most certainly needs.

the most interesting will be what they can produce when it comes to high performing models because that is what will set the image for what BMW can do.
