Is the Harman Kardon audio worth upgrading trim level?

The Signature to Signature Plus upgrade is $4K in the US and the only reasons I would consider the upgrade is for the audio and interior color choice - don't care for the pano moonroof nor 17" wheel choices.

Thoughts?

I wrestled with this too but liked the audio and interior. Went Iconic with white roof/mirrors and sunroof delete since I'm in AZ (think cooler in 110 degree sun).

I'm in AZ w/BRGreen/White. I got the pack for the cloth interior (hot in AZ0. I didn't know you could delete the sunroof, tho!
Added Bonnet stripes, not an option in the online configurator but the dealer can do it so it's delivered that way.

For me, the Mini is about the basics: drive experience and quality in a small package. Since I don't do critical listening in the car--mostly news and some background music--I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the base audio system. I'm also relieved not to be dragging around 17-inch wheels and tires, and the seats and slick interior are easy to clean. The base delivers more than I expected for my miserly purchase decision. Had a sunroof in the Audi. It leaked. Very happy with the Moonwalk Grey, white top and mirrors, 16-inch Victory Spoke wheels.

If you're not someone who wants a top level sound system the Bose is more than capable for whatever you listen too. So unless you really like the interior colors you might want to skip it.

What did you end up going with @voxel ?

Base Signature with base audio. The trim isn't even available anymore.

When I visited the dealer to finalize the order.. .I had to redo my online reservation that was built with 22 options and it was such a rushed process I just wanted a base red MINI SE with no options.

If I hate the base audio, I will put in a new order for the Signature Plus trim

I'm in AZ, too. Got the same exact car as you! I didn't know about deleting the sunroof, either. My first MINI, I thought it came with standard alarm - and it didn't. Think I should have spoken to a salesperson to make sure I was aware of all the standard equipment, options, etc.. Great car, but the quirks in the settings, infotainment system have been driving me crazy.

Bill - how far along in the production process is your SE and when did you order it? Mine just moved from “in production queue” to “in production “.

Looking lovely
I bought my MINI SE with the base audio and it is acceptable. It's NOT luxury or Tesla quality audio but it is far better than base Toyota car audio. Honestly... it's not far off from premium Kia/Hyundai audio (which isn't premium at all)

If I were to upgrade I'd want a significant bump in audio quality (more speakers, louder bass) but for a mid $20K car after tax credits - I'm happy.
I got a base. The sound is actually pretty decent. For the price of the Harmon Kardon, you can likely get an aftermarket upgrade of even better sound.
Dealers have a list of available options for each trim level. Ask for the lists instead of using the website confusigator!
When I ordered mine in April, I was told that all Minis would soon only be available with the solar oven. Don't know if he was just trying to hurry me up or not...

YES, 100% worth it to me. But I am a bit of an audiophile and spend $ on all my cars to get the best audio or use aftermarket. If you only listen to talk radio, maybe no.
