Just wanted to start a thread that showcases the changes we've seen in the Mini EV from paper to production. Feel free to share anything that hints to what we could still see in a production model.

I'd imagine the Mini EV would look similar to the concept model they keep displaying at auto shows. Maybe a smaller splitter in the front unless it helps with aerodynamics.
But I do like the rocketman's front bumper more than the concept's.

Hopefully we actually get a peak inside/under the hood of that concept, because so far Mini has been very quiet about it. The electric test mule that we saw, looked much more like the traditional Mini.

I think those test mules that we saw in spy photo's we're just using Mini shells to test out their new electric powertrain. I don't think that their first EV will be styled that closely to their ICE models.

I don't think the general shape of the Mini EV will be all that different compared to what's already out there, but with very noticeable EV accents like an enclosed grille and colored trim. Maybe the prototype really does have the production ready body since half of it was covered by camouflage.

I really like the LED taillights that Mini showcased in their early renderings. I think its these small little accents that will help their electric variant to stand out. I'm pretty sure the test mules that we saw were back to using the traditional Mini lighting

It'll cost too much to make unique lights and everything, so they'll have to cut corners to keep the price low and competitive. I like the concept's headlights with the LED line that cuts across but that may not be what we're getting.

The newest Cooper S already comes with fairly similar, unique tail lights. Obviously an homage to its British roots, I have to say that its a welcomed change to the traditional set up.

Those aren't LED taillights though, so I don't think that the cost is really comparable. I do agree that they should give the Mini a unique look over the petrol models, but they are going to have a hard time doing that when trying to keep costs down.

LED lighting will likely be said to save power in the electric model among all the other reasons they will list. Because of that we might not see it offered on lower end Mini models. I don't even think it will be a straight swap for anyone willing to buy the lights individually.
