Hey everyone!

I’m diving into some DIY repairs on my electric MINI and am trying to track down the most accurate, helpful repair manuals. There are factory service manuals, aftermarket Haynes/Chilton guides, and a few online PDF collections floating around, but what’s worth your time?

Specifically, I’m looking for clear detail on EV systems like battery, wiring, and powertrain. Are the factory manuals the only way to go, or have any of you found aftermarket or free resources that worked well?

Where do you go to get your manuals for accurate, detailed guidance?

Factory service manuals are always the most accurate, especially for EV-specific systems like battery cooling and wiring that Haynes or Chilton usually skip over. Some online PDFs can help with basics but they often miss the depth you will need on high-voltage components. I have used the factory Jaguar manual for wiring diagnostics before and my advice is to invest in the OEM version. It pays off when chasing complex electrical faults.
