As a first time Mini owner, I'm not clear on the alarm system. My order for the Base Signature Trim allows for an Alarm option. Is this an upgrade to a standard alarm, or does the Mini exclude the alarm unless optioned?

I was going to order a sun shade from CoverCraft, but they have an option for the SE with or without the rain sensor on the windshield. Do all SE's come with a rain sensor, or is that a package option?

Well now I can answer these questions as I have a new Mini SE in Base Signature Trim and no upgrades. The car does NOT come with an alarm. Nobody pays attention to alarms anyway and it's more likely to get vandalized if the alarm is sounding off. The car does come with a rain sensor on the windshield. So, if ordering a custom sun shade from CoverCraft, select the rain sensor option.
